Govt eyes Rs 1.5k cr revenue in March after record Feb mop up
Jaipur: The mines and geology department set a target of Rs 1,500 crore revenue collection during the final month of the financial year 2025–26 and finalised a field-level strategy to achieve the goal.The dept recorded revenue collection of Rs 8,888.80 crore up to Feb, registering a 12% growth. This was Rs 952 crore higher than the revenue collected during the corresponding period of the previous financial year.
A senior official said, "In Feb alone, the dept achieved a record monthly collection of Rs 1,060 crore, the highest ever in its history. The collection exceeded the set target of Rs 1,000 crore for the month."To meet the March target, special emphasis was laid on recovery of all pending and potential dues. "Instructions were issued to keep departmental offices open even on holidays during March to ensure timely achievement of the revenue target," added official.In preparation for the upcoming financial year, directions were given to draft an action plan for time-bound implementation of budget announcements and to complete necessary preparations for auctioning mineral blocks and plots from April onward. "Against the Feb targets, Ajmer, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Udaipur, Bhilwara and Rajsamand districts recorded more than 100% recovery. The dept expressed confidence in achieving the March targets as well," said an official During the recent review meeting, officials were also directed to ensure timely replies to pending Assembly questions, expedite the preparation of mineral blocks and plots, submit an action plan for implementation of budget announcements, and ensure prompt disposal of cases received through the contact portal.
