Drive to check adulteration launched

Jaipur: Looking at the upcoming Diwali festivities, the health department is set to initiate a campaign aimed at taking stringent measures against those involved in the production and sale of adulterated food items. The authorities will compile a list of repeat offenders, and chief medical and health officers have been instructed to maintain regular surveillance on these persons.The number of food safety officers deployed in each district will determine the formation of teams responsible for conducting sampling and inspection activities. Additionally, extensive efforts will be made to raise public awareness.Food safety commissioner Iqbal Khan, highlighted the increased risk of adulteration during the festive season due to increase in consumption of food products, including milk, cheese, mawa, sweets made from these ingredients, ghee, oil, and spices.
