Jaipur: England clinched the fourth T20I of the Apollo Mixed Disability Series with a composed four-wicket victory over India, taking an unassailable 3–1 lead in the five-match series at the Jaipuria Vidyalaya Ground here on Wednesday.Chasing a modest target, England showed depth and calm under pressure to wrap up the contest with five balls to spare.
Batting first, India struggled to build sustained partnerships and were restricted to 133 for 9 in 18.5 overs. Jayesh Parmar was the standout performer for the hosts, playing a scintillating knock of 59 off 33 balls, which included five fours and five sixes, providing much-needed momentum to the innings. Akash Singh also contributed with a brisk 21 off 18, while wicketkeeper Yogendra Bhadoria added 16 runs at the top.However, regular wickets at the other end prevented India from accelerating in the death overs, as England bowlers kept things tight.In reply, England's chase was anchored by a commanding performance from Liam O'Brien, who remained unbeaten on 70 off 41 deliveries, striking four boundaries and three sixes.O'Brien's innings proved decisive as he paced the chase intelligently and countered the Indian bowling attack with authority.Christopher Edwards chipped in with 21, while skipper Callum Flynn added 12 to keep the chase on track despite a few hiccups.India did manage to apply brief pressure through disciplined bowling spells, but England's lower middle order held firm. Jordan Williams stayed not out to see his side home as England reached 136 for 6 in 19.1 overs.With this victory, England have now taken a 3–1 lead in the series, confirming their dominance in the contest. The fifth and final T20I will be played at the SMS Stadium here on February 6, where India will look to salvage pride, while England aim to finish the series on a high.
