JAIPUR: Congress leader and former Madhya Pradesh minister Jeetu Patwari said on Monday that the whole country is discussing these days the difference between the promises Prime Minister Narendra Modi had made to citizens before he occupied the post in 2014 and the present condition of the country.
“PM Narendra Modi had said before the 2014 general elections that elections are being held in the country, but inflation is not being discussed. He had also expressed surprise at what he called the silence of the fourth pillar of democracy about inflation. Today we, the citizens of the country, are also surprised that inflation is not being discussed,” said Patwari at a press conference here about the proposed September 4 rally of Congress in Delhi against price hike.
He said daily necessities like flour, curd and rice had been made expensive by being brought under GST and that it is the responsibility of the central government to work for the people. “ Modi had promised to bring back black money stashed in Swiss banks, but he has taken no step to bring back this money back,” he said.
