Rajasthan IAS reshuffle: Tina Dabi takes charge as Barmer collector, husband Pradeep Gawande 150 km away in Jalore

NEW DELHI: In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the Rajasthan government has transferred 108 IAS officers. The announcement came late Thursday, revealing that 98 officers were transferred, while 10, who were awaiting assignments, have been posted to the Industries Department.

Tina Dabi, who gained media attention after her 2023 wedding to fellow IAS officer Pradeep Gawande, has been appointed as Barmer district collector, with Gawande taking up the position of Jalore collector.

Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Tina Dabi got married again to her fellow colleague Pradeep Gawande – a 2013 batch IAS officer.

Dabi first made the headlines in 2015 when she topped the civil services exam, becoming the first-ever Dalit girl to top the UPSC examination.

She married Athar Aamir Ul Shafi Khan, who came second in the 2015 IAS examinations, however, the marriage was short-lived and the couple got divorced in the year 2021.

Other notable transfers

Key officers, including Akhil Arora (Finance) and Anand Kumar (Home), remain unchanged.

Notable transfers include divisional commissioners of Jaipur and Banswara, as well as the collectors of 13 districts, including Jaipur.

Shubhra Singh moves from the Health Department to become Roadways chairperson, while Gayatri A Rathore shifts from Tourism to head Health.

Other important changes include Bhaskar Sawant to Public Health Engineering, Samit Sharma to Animal Husbandry, and Shreya Guha to Rural Development.

Vaibhav Galaria replaces T Ravikant as Principal Secretary of Urban Development and Housing, with Ravikant moving to Mines and Petroleum. Bhanu Prakash Eturu is now Secretary of Tribal Development, while Aarti Dogra takes over the state's power companies.

Neeraj K Pawan and Rashmi Gupta have also been assigned new roles, along with Jitendra Soni, the new Jaipur Collector.
