Rajasthan inaugurates first semiconductor cluster in Bhiwadi
Alwar/Jaipur: Chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma Friday inaugurated Rajasthan’s first semiconductor cluster in Bhiwadi and said the state govt was continuously working to promote investment and industrial growth across sectors.
Addressing a virtual inauguration and foundation stone-laying programme from Jaipur, Sharma said the govt implemented 35 policies over the last two years to create an industry-friendly environment and accelerate the vision of “Developed Rajasthan 2047”.
The CM virtually inaugurated and laid foundation stones for multiple projects, including the Elsina Electronics Complex, a 34 MLD sewage treatment plant (STP), and other development works in the Khairthal-Tijara region.
Calling the semiconductor cluster a major milestone, Sharma said the state was aggressively expanding renewable energy infrastructure, including solar and wind projects. He also highlighted progress on the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) linking Rajasthan to Delhi through Haryana and announced plans for a major industrial area near Bandikui in Alwar district.
Union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw described semiconductors as a strategic industry and said India now has 12 semiconductor plants manufacturing chips and electronic components.
“The Bhiwadi electronics manufacturing cluster alone attracted an investment of Rs 1,200 crore and is expected to generate employment for nearly 2,500 people,” Vaishnaw said.
