Two killed as vehicle falls in gorge in J&K’s Doda dist

Jammu: Two persons were killed and three others critically injured when a load carrier skidded off the road and rolled down into a deep gorge in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, police officials said on Sunday.The accident took place near Battara village in the hilly Gandoh area around midnight Saturday, the officials said.They said five persons were critically injured in the accident and sent to hospital, where Shakeel Ahmed (20) and Mohammad Sayam (18) succumbed to their injuries. Two individuals from Jammu lost their lives and one was critically injured when a utility vehicle fell into a gorge near Bhaapkund Bridge in Joshimath, Chamoli district. The deceased were Manik Singh (32) and Karnail Singh (27). Rajvir Singh, the injured victim, is undergoing treatment. Rescue operations were conducted by local police and the SDRF team.
