JAMSHEDPUR: Chief minister Hemant Soren announced to hold "special job camps" in the state for the local unemployed youths in the industries operating out of Jharkhand. He said the government has made it mandatory for the local companies to appoint 75% locals.

He said the government will organise job camps in the districts on the lines of the 'Aapki Yojna Aapki Sarkar Aapke Dwar' (AYASAD) programme to see that the Moolvasi and the Adivasi of the state are employed in the local companies and establishments.

Earlier this year, the state government through a gazette notification issued by the labour and planning department, made it mandatory for the private sector industries and establishments to ensure 75% of the total strength of the employees working are locals.

Speaking at the Birsa Munda stadium in Seraikela on Saturday, Soren said the programme has received a tremendous response.

Noting that 40 lakh applications were received under the scheme in the last 22 days, the CM said even though the scheme will conclude on November 14, he would see that those who missed the opportunity to apply are not left out.

Soren further said his government's sincere aim is to generate income for the working people and help them prosper.
