Jamshedpur: Adorned with colourful lights, the city looked vibrant on Saturday, a day ahead of the Founder’s day. The industrial town is all aglow as heritage buildings, institutions, parks and roundabouts around 40 locations have been decorated with lights which were switched on remotely by Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran.
The Jubilee Park, considered the centre of attraction, looked stunning. The illuminations adorned the Jamshetji Nusserwanji Tata statue and lined the roadside from the CFE gate to the Sakchi gate, passing through the Baug-e-Jamshed gate and back.
The trees decorated with LED lights looked beautiful while the decorative lights on plants beckoned visitors. In the city circle, Tata Steel UISL corporate office building, the Parsee Fire temple, the clock tower, joggers park on Kadma Sonari link road, Dhatkidih lake fountain, among the landmark structures and spots are decorated with string lights, lamps, LED lights and garden lights.
Lady Gandhi roundabout near Dorabji Tata park, P N Bose roundabout, Postal park roundabout, Jusco office roundabout, Sakchi roundabout, besides other roundabouts attracted huge crowd.
The Tata Group companies will celebrate the 185th birth anniversary of Jamshetji Tata on March 3.

Jeep rams bike at light point, 1 dead
A 65-year-old man named Bahadur Singh was killed in a hit and run case near the light point of Sector 29/30 in Chandigarh. The victim succumbed to his injuries during treatment at PGI. Industrial Area Phase-1 police registered a case and are checking CCTV cameras. Chhavi Singh reported that a driver of a jeep hit the victim's bike.
