JAMSHEDPUR: The Maoists blew up panchayat building and a culvert at two different police station areas in West Singhbhum district on Thursday.
While the panchayat building was blown up at Gitilapi village in Goilkera police station limits, a culvert was damaged at Barkela village in Muffasil police station limits. The banned ultras used IED to blow up the structures at both the places.
Confirming the incidents, SP, Ashutosh Shekhar, said that the Maoists have resorted to violence in desperation due to the heightened combing operation by the security forces.
The district police has rushed additional forces to the incident site to conduct search and seizure.
