area of Jodhpur, he has allegedly played a key role in recruiting new people for the racket and arranging visas to travel to Pakistan for them.

Agencies had busted a spying ring in Delhi after the arrest of Mehmood Akhtar, a Pakistan Embassy official.His interrogation led the police to Shoaib, who was in contact with the Pakistani official allegedly as a passport and visa agent.

According to sources, Shoaib started recruiting agents for ISI motivated by Akhtar, and enlisted

Maulana Ramzan Khan

from Nagaur, who in turn lured Subhash Jangid.

Both Ramzan and Subhash have already been arrested. The agencies were after Shoaib after his name emerged during their interrogation.

According to a senior police official, the search for the Shoaib was going on in the city since morning. But he could not be traced. Later, they obtained information that he had gone to Delhi to meet Akhtar two days ago and was returning by train to Jodhpur.

“A team of sleuths followed him from Delhi and arrested him from the train at Merta railway station. He has been taken to Delhi,“ said the official. The agencies believe that his interrogation would reveal many more names in the network and the type of sensitive information shared by them with their Pakistani handlers.

It may be recalled that six sleeper cells of the Indian Mujahideen (IM) were busted from various parts of the Jodhpur city in 2014, while preparing to launch bomb blasts.
