Ravna Rajputs observe Haifa hero Dalpat Singh’s martyrdom

Jodhpur: The Ravna Rajput community exhibited its might on Saturday on the sidelines of observation of 105th year of martyrdom of Haifa hero Major Dalpat Singh Devli, who was the Commanding Officer of Jodhpur Lancers. He had led to the liberation of Haifa town in Israel from the clutches of Turkey and Germany in the Battle of Haifa fought on September 23, 1918.While pitching for a separate 5% reservation in OBC category in compliance of Verma and Rohini commissions, the community has also demanded inclusion of the biography of Major Devli in the school curriculum. Observed as ‘Shaurya Divas’, the community members also demanded withdrawal of all the cases registered by the government in Sanvrad violence followed by the encounter of gangster Anandpal Singh in June 2017.Singh’s brother Manjit Pal Singh and daughter Yogita Singh were also present on this occasion. They exorted the community to be united and fight for their honour and self-respect. “We have to stand by every member of the community, irrespective of his social and financial status. We have to be united and fight for our self-respect, dignity and honour," she said while addressing the gathering. The speakers also demanded political representation with respect to their population and challenged political parties to pick candidates from the community in the upcoming election. However, they called upon the audience to avoid any political affiliation or political association in this event and stressed upon unity irrespective of political loyalty or association. Speakers also demanded speedy appointments in Major Dalpat Singh Devli Board, recently constituted by the government apart from installation of his statue and a Bharat Ratna for him. Thousands of community members from Jodhpur, Pali, Bikaner, Nagaur, Bhilwara, Ajmer, Barmer, Jaisalmer, Jaipur, etc, attended this event held at Ravan Ka Chabutara on Saturday.

Masih community leaders demand fair representation ahead of Chhattisgarh assembly elections

Leaders of the Masih community in Chhattisgarh have demanded fair representation and protection of their rights ahead of the assembly elections. They called for a candidate from their community in each division of the state, representation in government bodies at various levels, and equal participation in decision-making processes. The leaders also highlighted instances of their community being denied constitutional rights, such as the ban on hookah smoking and the mistreatment of deceased bodies. They expressed concern over national political parties remaining silent on these issues and not receiving entitled rations despite having valid ration cards.

Vaishya community demands increase in EWS quota limit

Members of the Vaishya community in Jaipur demanded 35 tickets each from the BJP and Congress for the upcoming elections. They also called for the establishment of a Vaishya Kalyan Aayog in the state and an increase in the quota for the Economically Weaker Section category. Thousands of community members attended the Virat Mahapanchayat. State minister Subhash Garg expressed support for the community's demands. Other prominent figures, including former Jaipur mayor Jyoti Khandelwal and former state BJP president Ashok Parnami, were also present at the event.
