The test will conducted free of cost in the hospital from September 19. The samples of the patients already undergoing treatment for dengue in private hospitals will also be tested for dengue free of cost. This decision was taken by chief medical officer (

CMO

) Dr RP Yadav to reduce the work load of microbiology department of Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Memorial (GSVM) Medical College.

The CMO office is has also geared up to take strict action against private hospitals and nursing homes which are not making available reports to the CMO regarding admission of dengue patients and their treatment. As per government orders, all private hospitals have been directed to send dengue related reports to the CMO office so that the records of such patients could be maintained by it. So far, the CMO office has not received any report from private hospitals/nursing homes regarding dengue positive cases despite several patients getting treatment in these hospitals.

Talking to mediapersons on Saturday, CMO Dr RP

Yadav

said that strict action would be taken against private nursing homes and hospitals from September 19 if they failed to send proper reports of number of dengue patients getting treatment on daily basis. A notice in this regard has already been sent to all private nursing homes, he informed.

"We have also asked private pathologies and diagnostic centres, which are conducting Elisa tests, to submit dengue related reports on daily basis so that information of not even a single patient is missed out" , the CMO said. Meanwhile, under the supervision of CMO, a special cleanliness drive around

Green Park

stadium was conducted on Saturday.
