Foundation laid, parallel bridge in Dadanagar to ease traffic

Kanpur: The UP public works department minister, Jitin Prasada, laid the foundation stone of Dadanagar parallel bridge at Dadanagar crossing here, on Saturday. He said laying of foundation stone of a scheme was a day of great joy for public. “The problem faced by people of Kanpur for years will now be solved, thanks to the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath,” he said, adding that the bridge would be built at a cost of Rs 53 crore. Prasada was assured by officials of the bridge corporation that work on the bridge will start within 10 days. “In nine years of the Central Government and six years of the State Government, development work has been done at a very fast pace in the country and the state,” he said.He also said that the “double-engine” government will develop Kanpur into a world class city. He hailed Surendra Maithani, BJP MLA from Govindnagar, for big projects coming up in the area. “Unlike in previous governments, projects will get completd with quality and in a time-bound manner,” he said.He instructed officials that special attention be paid to quality, as there will be accountability of the work done.” He also told the PWD officials that several roads were damaged by heavy rains and work to repair them should begin. He said that not only the roads, those leading to houses in the villages should be repaired too, on priority before Diwali. The minister announced work for widening and improvement work from two lanes to form lanes and from 1km to 17km of the Mandhana-Ganga Barrage-Shuklaganj-Purwa-Mohanlalganj (State Road No. 173) in Kanpur district till the border of Kanpur. “It would cost Rs. 162 crore,” he added. Kanpur MP Satyadev Pachauri, Akbarpur MP Devendra Singh Bhole, city Mayor Pramila Pandey, district panchayat chairperson Swapnil Varun, BJP MLAs Surendra Maithani, Saroj Kuril, Mohit Sonkar, MLCs Salil Vishnoi and Arun Pathak, besides senior officials, were present on the occasion.

Dhule-Nandurbar bridge repairs will take at least a month, say PWD officials

Road repair work starts in 2 areas

Shopkeepers fret as rain disrupts road repair work
