KANPUR: To celebrate the 75th Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj University, Kanpur, on Saturday organized ‘Prabhat Pheri’ with several other cultural and social programmes on the university campus to honour and remember the freedom fighters.
Under the leadership and presence of Professor Vinay Kumar Pathak, the ‘Prabhat Pheri’ started at 7:30 am from Deendayal Shodh Kendra to Vishweshwar temple and ended at Saraswati temple. Prof Vinay Kumar Pathak motivated everyone through his speech. Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof Sudhir Kumar Awasthi, Dean of Student Welfare Prof. Sanjay Swarnkar, Dr Pravin Bhai Patel, Dr Vishal Sharma, and all the students, teachers, and officers and employees participated in the Prabhat Pheri. After the Prabhat Pheri, School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences students performed a street play in the Seminar Hall of the Department of Social Work. Along with this, Rashtravadi Kavi Sammelan was also organized at Deendayal Shodh Kendra.
Media incharge Dr Vishal Sharma said that department of journalism and mass communication presented a documentary on Vibhajan vibhiska in the programme. Institute of fine arts organized an art competition in which students showed their creativity on 75th Independence Day themes.
