Kanpur Smart City signs MoU to improve digital governance
Kanpur: For improved operation of the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) project under Kanpur Smart City Limited, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between Airawat Research Foundation (ARF) of IIT Kanpur and Kanpur Smart City Limited on Thursday.The MoU was signed between Prof Sachidanand Tripathi, Project Director, Airawat Research Foundation, and KV Pandian, Chairman of Kanpur Smart City Ltd. The proposal involves integrating five nearby districts—Unnao, Fatehpur, Hamirpur, Auraiya, and Kanpur Dehat—with the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) through a partnership with Airawat Research Foundation. The aim is to create a digital governance ecosystem and enhance the quality of services provided by the municipal corporations and municipalities of the district by leveraging the foundational/technical facilities of Kanpur's ICCC.Airawat Research Foundation will work on improving facilities such as management of drinking water pipeline network, traffic management, waste management, and smart power grid in the district by creating a digital twin through artificial intelligence. During the signing of the MoU, Amar Nath, CEO, Airawat Research Foundation and Nishith Srivastava, Director, Airawat Research Foundation were present. ARF is a non-profit company established by IIT Kanpur to operate the National Centre of Excellence for AI in sustainable cities.
