Naik -Karan Kumar Yadav, martyr in Rajouri Poonch attack consigned to flames with full state honours at Bithoor Ghat
KANPUR: The mortal remains of Naik -Karan Kumar Yadav (29), who attained martyrdom in the terror attack in Rajouri Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, were consigned to the flames with full state honours at Bithoor Ghat on Monday.
Senior Army officials placed wreaths on the martyr’s body wrapped in the Tricolour.
State ministers including MSME minister Rakesh Sachan and Women Welfare, Child Development and Nutrition minister- Pratibha Shukla also placed wreaths on the martyr's body. SP MLA Amitabh Bajpai, also paid tributes to the martyr.
As the locals came to know that mortal remains of the martyr Karan Kumar Yadav were arriving at his native village on Monday, they started visiting his village to pay their respect to the braveheart.
After keeping his mortal remains for some time near his house, the coffin was carried in a procession to perform the last rites at Bithoor Ghat.
People, accompanying the funeral procession, continued chanting slogans, "Shaheed Karan Kumar amar rahe. Bharat Mata ki jai."
Flower petals were showered on the mortal remains of the martyr.
People from all walks of life also visited the Bithoor Ghat and attended the cremation. His father -Balak Ram said that he is proud of the martyrdom of his first son, and now he will send his second son in the Army.
"I am proud of the martyrdom of my first son and now I will send my second son to the Army for the security of the country," said Balak Ram further.
Karan Kumar had joined the Army in 2013. He is survived by wife Anju, two children, father Balak Ram, mother and younger brother-Arun Kumar.
