Nephews murder woman to usurp her property
Kanpur: The police have arrested three persons who allegedly murdered a woman Kusum Devi (55) in order to usurp her property worth crores of rupees. To recall, on the information of a cab driver, the police had launched searches to trace the whereabouts of the two persons who had booked a taxi and tried to transport a dead body of a woman to Noida after stuffing it in a sack in Maharajpur area of the district on July 11.Since then, the police have been looking for the dead body and the murderers. Five days later, on Saturday, the police arrested 2 persons (nephews of the deceased woman) and their relative, who assisted them in crime.On their information, the police recovered the woman’s dead body from bushes near the Padhara canal in Kalyanpur police station in Fatehpur district. The woman’s nephews identified as Bablu Singh (30) and Ashu Singh (29) during interrogation told police that after the cab driver-Manoj fled, they had transported the body on a motorcycle and disposed it off in the Padhara canal.“Bablu Singh and his brother Ashu Singh with the help of their relative Jitendra Pratap Singh alias Saurabh Singh (39) of Pratapgarh, murdered their aunt Kusum Devi to usurp her property worth crores,” the police said.Kusum of Pratapgarh was married to Ram Chandra of Maholi village of Kanpur, said police and added, “She left her mentally unstable husband twenty years ago. Just a few days back she had returned home and was asking her nephews for her husband’s share in the property worth crores located in Amauli village.”Maharajpur police station in-charge Abhishek Shukla said that the trio have been arrested from their relatives place. “The trio as per the planning had killed Kusum by strangulating her on the night of May 10 and later threw her body in the bushes in Padhara canal in neighbouring Fatehpur district.They had hired a cab to dispose of Kusum’s body, but due to the alertness of cab driver -Manoj, the police nailed down the accused and the case could be solved,” he said.The communique issued by Commissionerate police stated that senior police officials of the Commissionerate had decided to felicitate and reward the cab driver -Manoj.
