SI suspended for sending obscene msgs to complainant’s daughter

Kanpur: A sub-inspector, who had sent obscene messages to a complainant’s daughter on WhatsApp was suspended after investigation.
According to reports, a group of drug peddlers had a woman’s family members when they objected to selling drugs in front of their house. Subsequently, a complaint was lodged by the woman’s mother in the Govind Nagar police station. Ratan Lal Nagar Police out-post incharge Shubham Singh was investigating the matter. Singh, somehow, got the WhatsApp number of the woman. He called the woman to his room while sending her obscene messages. The screen shot of the obscene chat somehow went viral on social media.
The family members of the woman complained about the matter to Commissioner of Police BP Jogdand, who ordered a probe into the matter.
In investigation by the police the charges levelled against the police out-post incharge were found to be true after which he was suspended with immediate effect. A senior police official told TOI that sub-inspector Shubham Singh posted at Ratan Lal nagar police out-post had sent a WhatsApp message to the woman at 3 o’clock in the night, wherein he wrote that he was alone at home, and asked her to come to his house.
ADCP Ankita Sharma said that all the allegations have been found true in the investigation. “SI -Shubhan Singh has been suspended and departmental inquiry has also been ordered against him,” ADCP added.
