KANPUR: A policeman and his friend allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped a 14-year-old girl in Sachendi area of Kanpur. They sexually abused the girl for two hours and dumped her outside her home after she fell unconscious, and fled.
The girl said in her complaint that she was pulled into the vehicle by two men, one of whom was a policeman, when she stepped out of her house around 10pm on Monday.
She said the perpetrators took her to a deserted railway track in Sachendi and raped her.
The girl's brother said he called the police on 112 at midnight, but they did not respond. He then went to a police station to lodge a complaint but was turned away since one of the accused was a cop.
The family later met senior officers after which a case was registered against two unidentified accused.
DCP west, Dinesh Chandra Tripathi said a case has been filed against two unidentified men and efforts are underway to identify them.
