Yogi Adityanath likely to visit Kanpur to address election rally

KANPUR: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath is likely to visit the city on October 15 to address a public rally in South City in support of the party candidate Surendra Maithani who is contesting the bypoll from

Govind Nagar

assembly constituency.


Govind Nagar seat fell vacant after the sitting MLA Satyadeo Pachauri was elected Lok Sabha MP from Kanpur Nagar seat. Pachauri was a cabinet minister in the Yogi government before winning the Lok Sabha poll.

The city unit of the party has started making preparations for the rally. BJP workers and supporters are doing a door-to-door campaignsin support of Surendra Maithani.

Nand Gopal Nandi, a minister in the Yogi government and Ranjana Upadhyaya, the state BJP vice-president along with the local party leaders visited the rally spot on Thursday and reviewed preparations for the CM’s rally.

The CM’s chopper is expected to land at Sanjay Van in Kidwai Nagar from where he would go to the rally site via road route.
