Youth climbs high tension tower to get kin’s approval for marriage
Kanpur: A youth climbed a high-tension electricity tower in Minaura village under the Orai Kotwali area of Jalaun, insisting on marrying his girlfriend.
The youth was in relationship with his brother-in-law’s sister for a long time but his family was against it.
As the news spread, people from nearby villages gathered at the spot. The police present at the spot managed the crowd. Due to the tower’s height and the young man’s stubbornness, there was a persistent fear of an accident, which increased the concerns of both the authorities and the family members.
According to the sources, the youth and the woman wanted to marry but their family objected. Due to this tension, the youth took such a dangerous step to get the approval of his family.
Circle officer Shailendra Kumar Bajpai stated that the youth was safely brought down. “Efforts are being made to resolve his issue through dialogue. The youth’s family was present at the scene,” he added.
