13-year-old suffers electric shock as house door rigged
T'puram: A 13-year-old boy was hospitalized after suffering an electric shock at his house in Neyyattinkara on Friday.The incident occurred at the residence of Ramya in Manchavilakam, where she lives with her two children. According to preliminary information, an unidentified person allegedly connected a wire from the electricity meter to the handle of the front door in an apparent attempt to electrocute the family. The incident came to light on Friday morning when Ramya's son, Alan, received an electric shock while opening the front door and collapsed. Family members and locals later found that a wire from the electricity meter had been wrapped around the front door handle. Locals immediately informed police and rushed the child to Neyyattinkara general hospital. Hospital sources said Alan's condition is stable. Following the incident, the electricity supply to the house was disconnected to prevent further danger. Marayamuttam police reached the spot and conducted an inspection. Police launched a probe into the incident. Authorities are yet to ascertain the motive behind the alleged attempt to harm the family.
