Justin Welby, who is visiting the country for the first time, was the guest of honour at the jubilee valedictory of CMS college here on Monday.

Speaking at the occasion, the Canterbury

archbishop

said that world is looking at a future that one cannot guess.

“We cannot predict the future. Many of you who are studying in this college will see jobs that have not been invented yet and will become experts in them,” he told the students.

The archbishop also said that the youth should be prepared for jobs that they cannot imagine.

Speaking about the surprises in store for the future, he said that future battlegrounds will have robots supported by soldiers.

The archbishop also lauded the college for preparing its students for the future.

Finance minister T M Thomas Isaac who inaugurated the valedictory event announced two new PG courses for the college.

“One course has been allotted in economics and the other course can be decided by the college,” said Issac in his speech.

The meeting was followed with an interactive session with the archbishop.
