John Paul memorial meet held

Kochi: John Paul was a great personality who gave importance to maintaining personal relationships, said critic M K Sanoo.
He was speaking at the John Paul commemoration meeting at Chavara Cultural Centre in Kochi on Sunday.
MLA T J Vinod delivered the keynote address at the meeting held on the first death anniversary of filmmaker, screenwriter and author Paul.
Vinod recalled various roles played by Paul, including as a teacher, organizer, screenwriter and TV anchor. Malayalis would never forget Paul, he added.
Sanoo released ‘Prathishedham Thanne Jeevitham: P J Antony’, a book by Paul, on the occasion. Former spokesperson of Syro-Malabar Catholic church Fr Paul Thelakkat, KCBC media commission secretary Fr Abraham Irimbinikal, playwright Sreemoolanagaram Mohan, lyricist Shibu Chakravarthy, among others spoke.
Meanwhile, Old Students’ Association (OSA) of Maharaja’s College also organized a John Paul commemoration meet. It was inaugurated by OSA president CICC Jayachandran.
Alumni of Maharaja’s College Majnu Komath presided over the meeting, which was held at the classroom where Paul studied 53 years ago.
Another meeting to commemorate Paul was organized by KCBC at the Pastoral Orientation Centre at Palarivattom.
