Kavya Madhavan moves high court seeking anticipatory bail
KOCHI: In a surprising move, Dileep’s wife actor Kavya Madhavan moved the high court on Saturday seeking anticipatory
Additionally, actor Nadirsha is likely to be questioned again on Sunday as the special investigation team (SIT) has directed him to appear at the Aluva police club on Sunday morning. Police couldn’t question him on Friday after he took ill before the quizzing began. Sources said that he will be questioned only after ensuring his health.
Kavya’s petition states, “Despite completely destroying the life and promising career of Dileep and that of his teenage daughter in the process, a group of unscrupulous senior police officers, a small-but-powerful section of the film industry and scores of obliging media personnel are trying to destroy Dileep’s entire family by implicating Kavya in the case and arresting her.”
“Sreekumar Menon – who is known for his links with various media and corporate houses, rather than his filmmaking skills – has a definite role in the unfolding drama. For the past few years, this person has nursed a grudge against Dileep,” Kavya said in her plea.
She added that investigating officer Baiju Paulose and SP KS Sudarsan visited Laksyah (a designer showroom managed by Kavya’s brother) and her parent’s house in mufti. “They openly threatened that she would be made an accused unless certain illegal demands (they raised) were met,” she said in her plea. Kavya stated that SIT was torturing, humiliating and harassing her in public by allowing
The petitioner alleged that she was undergoing media trial after the police selectively leaked news in the media as she was Dileep’s wife. Another reason she cited was that she had refused to give SIT a statement that she knew Pulsar Suni.
In her petition, she added that her husband was falsely implicated in the case and that he had never met Pulsar Suni. She claimed that Suni was arraigned as an accused on the fabricated false allegation that Dileep had hatched a criminal conspiracy with the former. The petition stated that Suni had tried to extort money from her husband, who reported the same to the DGP. Kavya also said that SIT head IG Dinendra Kashyap was totally unaware of the plan to interrogate Dileep and has not met Dileep till date.
Meanwhile, Angamaly court will decide on Dileep’s bail application on Monday. It is learnt that Suni too filed a bail petition before the high court on Saturday. In a related development, actor KPAC Lalitha visited Dileep at Aluva sub-jail with Dileep’s sister Jayalakshmi on Saturday. Their visit lasted 20 minutes, said official sources. Meanwhile, the state police chief said that it is not right to make personal allegations against investigation officers.
