Sources with the
National Investigation Agency (NIA) said that the French officers met with officials of the central agency on Wednesday. "They have met with our team at Kochi. They are likely to meet Subahani Haja Moideen today (Wednesday) for interrogation. They have till December 7 to quiz the accused," said a senior official.
Sources said that the officers have their identities protected. “As per French law, they have their identities protected. They have restrictions in meeting non-officials in India,” said an official source.
An official said that Subahani was trained in Syria and was arrested in 2016 for joining and supporting the activities of Islamic state.
Moideen (33) hailing from Thodupuzha in Kerala underwent combat training and fought in Mosul for the IS. In the 2015 Paris attacks as many as 130 people were killed and over 400 suffered injuries.
