Faizal murder case: Accused RSS man murdered in Kerala

MALAPPURAM: One of the main accused in the controversial case of the murder of an Isamic convert Faizal in Kodinhi was killed by unidentified men on Thursday morning.

According to police, second Faizal murder case accused Vipin, 30, a native of Tirur, was attacked near Pulinchode in Tirur around 7am. Vipin was out on bail. He was rushed to the government hospital in Tirur where he was declared dead. As tension prevailed in the region, a team of police was deployed in the area.

It was the early morning of November 19, 2016, when Kodinhi Faizal alias Anilkumar (Unni), aged 30, who had converted to Islam, was found dead in a drain at

in Kodinhi. Following strong protests from Muslim organisations, police arrested 16 persons, who are RSS workers, in connection with the case.

After the death of Faisal, his mother and family members, including two sisters, had embraced Islam.

Earlier on August 2, another accused in the case Thayyil Lijeesh, was attacked by an unknown gang and the RSS outfits had alleged that it was a murder attempt. Lijeesh, 27, who was out on bail, was injured when an Innova car hit his motorbike at Parappanangadi. Alleging that the accident was a deliberate attempt to kill him, Lijeesh had lodged a complaint with Parappanangadi police.

. Alleging conspiracy behind the murder attempt on Lijeesh, the RSS outfits had organised protest rally and the district committee of Viswa Hindu Parishath (VHP) had come up with the statement against the attack on Lijeesh.

The district president of BJP, K Ramachandran had alleged it was a planned attack against Lijeesh and he also raised suspicion that some extremist outfits are behind the move.
