Koduvayur bids farewell to newly-wed couple
Palakkad: Residents of Koduvayur in Palakkad bid farewell to a newlywed couple from their village who died in a road accident in Thiruvananthapuram. The deceased were identified as Ashiq Sana (29) and his wife Noushija (24), natives of Pittupeedika in Koduvayur. The accident occurred on May 8 at Kowdiar in Thiruvananthapuram when a car that reportedly went out of control hit the couple while they were walking along the road. Noushija died on the day of the accident while undergoing treatment at the Thiruvananthapuram medical college hospital. Ashiq, who suffered serious injuries, underwent emergency surgery at a private hospital but succumbed to his injuries on Saturday. Their bodies were brought to their hometown and buried on separate days in the presence of relatives, friends and residents. The couple got married on March 8. Ashiq was working in Dubai and had returned home for the wedding. He was scheduled to rejoin work on Saturday. According to relatives, the couple had travelled to Thiruvananthapuram for their honeymoon when the accident occurred.
