KOCHI: An investigation has been launched after an unidentified person allegedly hurled a stone at a Vande Bharat Express train near Aluva, officials said on Sunday.
Railway Protection Force (RPF) officials said the incident occurred at around 7.15 pm on Saturday between Aluva and Angamaly railway stations, according to news agency PTI.
According to officials, the stone was thrown at the Vande Bharat Express running between Thiruvananthapuram and Mangaluru.
No passengers were injured in the incident, and the train sustained only minor damage, officials added.
The RPF has initiated an investigation and is examining CCTV footage installed on the train.
Officials will also record statements from residents living near the location where the incident occurred.
The Railway Police have launched a separate probe into the matter, an RPF official said.
Last month, in a similar case, a man was arrested in Kannur for pelting stones at a Vande Bharat Express train.
