"However, the Ayyappa Nama Japa Yatra protestors and Sabarimala pilgrims blocked her. A police team led by Chengannur DySP Aneesh V Kora reached the spot and told her that it was not safe for her to go to Pamba now. She had come without `irumudikettu’. She agreed not to go and got into a bus to Thiruvananthapuram. Two women civil police officers gave her protection in the bus till the protestors went back. After that she left for her native place in a 7.30pm bus,’’ said the police chief.

The DySP said Mary told the police that she just wanted to see Pamba and so she had come to Chengannur.

It’s said the water in the river turned red for about 12 days due to blood oozing out of dead bodies. This turned entire Coorg into a graveyard. This heart-wrenching event and untold misery of Kodava women has been recorded by Tipu’s historian Mir Hussain Ali Khan Kirmani and also by Tipu himself in the Persian language. This inhumane act conducted by Tipu with the help of his French counterpart General Lally is one of the worst in the history of mankind. It is a sin to the human race. The main backbone of this event was the French empire, they extended their military, financial, political, diplomatic support and they equipped Tipu with modern weapons
