KRISHNAGORE: The CJM court in Krishnagore remanded Kitab Singh, a BSF inspector, to police custody for four days for allegedly raping a BSF constable at the Tungi border outpost.

The survivor had lodged an FIR at the Bhowanipore police station in Kolkata on last Monday after undergoing a medical examination at SSKM. Consequently, Krishnaganj police initiated a probe and arrested Singh, the company commander of the complainant.

The woman constable was produced before the fifth court magistrate, Poulumi Pandit, in Krishnagore Judge's Court to record her statement.

Meanwhile, BSF has formed a committee to probe the complaint and suspended the accused. "We will take action if he is found guilty," said a spokesperson of South Bengal Frontier of BSF.
