CM asks RPF to track B’deshi infiltrators at stations
Kolkata: Chief minister Suvendu Adhikari on Thursday said the Railway Protection Force (RPF) had been asked to keep a watch on "Bangladeshi infiltrators" at railway stations across the state.Speaking after an administrative review meeting in Howrah, Adhikari said he had spoken to the Howrah police commissioner and the RPF regarding the matter. "If they spot anyone at Howrah who is out of the purview of the Citizenship Amendment Act and is an infiltrator from Bangladesh, they should hand him over to the Border Security Force," he said.A day earlier, Adhikari had announced that police would arrest infiltrators and hand them over to the BSF for deportation. "Howrah Police or RPF will hand them over to the BSF. The BSF, on the other hand, will send a weekly report to the chief minister's office over how many infiltrators have so far been deported," he said, adding that his office would directly monitor the process.Bengal BJP president Samik Bhattacharya said the party's policy of "detect, delete and deport" would continue and ruled out detention camps."The BJP clarified its stance of detect, delete and deport during the poll campaign, and this will continue now. There will not be any detention camp," Bhattacharya said."We don't have anything against the Indian Muslims. They consider this country as their motherland. This is not a dharamsala where anybody can just walk in," he added.
