KOLKATA: Cops probing the mysterious death of a 45-year-old woman at Barisha’s Purbapara in Behala on Monday, said they have found an “important evidence” that will help them reconstruct the incident. The victim, Lakshmi Devi Shaw, was allegedly forced to attend a kangaroo court and sign documents that dispossessed her of the ownership of a grocery shop.

The evidence, cops said, is an “agreement” between the victim, Lakshmi Devi Shaw and her neighbours, including the three — Kishore-Kumar Gupta, Samir Chakraborty and Nakul Chandra Shee — who have been arrested on charges of murder.

“As per the agreement, the woman was asked to refrain from constructing a concrete roof and obtain a permission from KMC in this regard,” said an officer. Cops also contacted the autopsy surgeon and wanted his opinion in the case on Tuesday.
