ED questions actor Bonny Sengupta for 4 hours in cash-for-job scam in Bengal

KOLKATA: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) questioned Tollywood actor Bonny Sengupta for over four hours on Thursday after finding his name on the list of people who received money from Trinamool Yuva leader Kuntal Ghosh.

Around 40 lakh was transferred to Sengupta from two of the 75 bank accounts belonging to Ghosh, who is in jail custody in connection with the cash-for-job scam.

The ED also questioned the owner of a south Kolkata beauty parlour, Soma Chakraborty, who got 50 lakh in 15 to 20 instalments from Ghosh since 2020. She was asked whether Sengupta had also made cash payments to her.
