Kolkata: ED officers on Wednesday questioned former education minister Partha Chatterjee at the Presidency correctional home, a day before he was to be produced in court, reports Rohit Khanna. ED will also produce his “close aide” Arpita Mukherjee at the PMLA court on Thursday.
Three ED officers reached the correctional home at 12.40pm on Wednesday and revisited the questions on the properties of Chatterjee, his relatives and those held jointly with Arpita. Investigators improved the questionnaire for Partha based on inputs they had got from Arpita on Tuesday.
The ED will place the recorded statements of both Partha and Arpita in the court while asking for extension of custody.
A Kolkata court also turned down a bail plea by former SSC adviser Santi Prasad Sinha and former SSC chairman Ashoke Kumar Saha and remanded them in CBI custody till August 22.
