councillor was killed on March 13.

“We have questioned the five officials twice already. They were present near Gokulnagar around 5.15pm that day. We are checking if there was any deliberate delay on their part to reach the spot,” a CBI official said.

The central agency had on Saturday questioned the five policemen again; they had been “closed” by the district police for negligence of duty after the murder. The five, including a woman sub-inspector, had already been questioned on Friday.

The CBI also questioned Ganesh Garai, driver of the patrol van.

Mamata Banerjee has criminalised the society in Bengal. Corruption has penetrated deep into the society. Lawlessness and hooliganism is extensive and is affecting adversely the developmental works. In fact no developmental work is being executed in the society. Monsoon is coming and there is absolutely no initiative / preparations to prevent damage to the crop and other properties due to flooding. In fact the money sanctioned by Central Government for disaster relief will be looted by TMC cadre with the blessings of its top leaders. It needs investigation if money allotted by Central Government is utilised transparently for the specific purpose, it was sanctioned. The biggest tragedy is that the academic standard in the state has been destroyed by Mamata Banerjee.
