Shah: Vote without fear, Bengal won’t see post-result violence

Kolkata: There will not be any violence in Bengal on polling day or even after the election results are out, said Union home minister Amit Shah on Monday.

Saying that central forces will be stationed in the state for 60 more days after the results, Shah urged voters not to be afraid.



"The EC has made enough arrangements for the CAPF during the polls. There will be a BJP govt in Bengal after May 4 and central forces will be stationed in Bengal for 60 more days after the results are out," Shah said at a road show in Behala.

Speaking at another road show in Chandannagar, Shah said, "There are apprehensions that there will be violence. Don't worry... I am asking Didi's goons not to step out of their homes. Otherwise, we will straighten them up after May 4."

Reiterating promises BJP made in its poll manifesto, Shah said that if BJP forms govt in Bengal, unemployed youths and women will get Rs 3,000 per month. "BJP govt in Bengal will put an end to triple Talaq and implement the Uniform Civil Code," he said at Chandannagar.

Assuring a hard stance on corruption, Shah urged voters: "On April 29, you have to cast your vote in favour of the BJP candidate to pave the way for a prosperous Bengal."
