Kerala Story-2 row: Better to make creative works which promote peace and harmony, says Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi

Kozhikode: Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi said while she believed in the right to freedom of expression, in the current times it was better to make creative works that promote peace and harmony.She was responding to a question regarding high court's decision to stay the screening of Kerala Story 2 – Goes Beyond. A division bench lifted the stay in the afternoon. "I feel that people should be allowed to express themselves. At the same time in an environment which is becoming increasingly filled with this kind of rhetoric, with anger and hatred towards each other, I think it is better to make things creatively which promote peace and love and welfare of the people," she said. Priyanka said she was an admirer of the people of Kerala and added that her experience as Wayanad's representative showed her how harmoniously different communities lived together, extending support to one another in times of crisis. "Take Mundakkai-Chooralmala landslide tragedy. It didn't matter which religion or caste you belonged to; everybody came together. That is the spirit of India. That is the spirit of Kerala. Why not showcase that? Why not let the whole country learn from such examples?" she asked.
