KOZHIKODE: One person was killed and two others injured as a tanker truck transportting liquified petroleum gas collided with a truck transporting milk at Palazhi in the city around 1.30 am on Friday. The deceased was identified as Kakkassery Veettil Krishnachandran alias Manu (28), who was the driver of the milk truck transporting Amrith Milk.
Two others, including the driver of the tanker truck are undergoing treatment at Kozhikode Medical college hospital.
Driver of the tanker truck A Hareesh suffered grievous injury as the truck overturned. The second injured was identified as P Ravi, a sales executive of Amrith Milk.
The tanker truck overturned on the Vengalam-Ramanattukara stretch of the national highway bypass at Palazhi following the head on collission.
The tanker truck was removed from the spot only by Friday noon. The local people were panicked and traffic was regulated on the stretch.
