After MotoGP, UP to host taekwondo nationals in Noida

LUCKNOW: After hosting the Khelo India University Games and more recently, MotoGP India, which was held in the country for the first time, UP is now set to host the National Taekwondo Championship at the Noida Indoor Stadium from October 5-8.

Noida Taekwondo Association president Ayushi Ketkar said the event would be grander than any other national taekwondo championship held in the country till now.

“The UP government has completed all preparations. The government is using modern techniques to develop world-class infrastructure,” she said.

“The organisers have made best arrangements and have ensured top-notch accommodations, food, and practice facilities for participants,” she said.

A government spokesperson said besides athletes from all states and union territo ries, a team from the Indian Army would also participate in the competition. Over 5,000 athletes in the age group of 8-50 years will participate in the championship.

“Over 7,500 visito rs are expected to attend the event. The government and organisers are promoting the event through social media,” he said.
