CM orders prompt relief for families affected by storm
Lucknow: Amid widespread thunderstorms, rain and strong winds that wreaked havoc across the state, chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday directed officials to intensify relief and rescue operations and ensure prompt assistance to affected families.
Reviewing the situation, Yogi instructed district administrations, the relief commissioner’s office and concerned departments to remain on high alert and continuously monitor weather-related developments. He said immediate action must be taken wherever loss of life, livestock or property was reported.
The CM further directed officials to ensure that compensation and relief assistance are provided without delay to families affected by natural calamities. He also ordered a rapid survey of crop damage caused by rain, storms and hailstorms. Revenue and agriculture department teams have been asked to jointly assess losses and submit reports so that eligible farmers can receive assistance as per govt norms.
Yogi also reviewed the impact of the adverse weather on electricity infrastructure and directed the power department to restore disrupted supply on priority. He stressed the need to safeguard residents from snapped power lines, damaged poles and other electrical hazards.
District officials have been instructed to remain in the field, monitor ground conditions and undertake immediate relief and rescue operations wherever necessary.
The CM also appealed to residents to exercise caution during inclement weather, avoid unnecessary movement in open areas and follow advisories issued by local authorities. He said the govt is closely monitoring the situation and that citizen safety remains its top priority.
