Lucknow: For the first time in the city, a dastangoi on the life of Guru Gobind Singh was performed at Gurdwara Sadar on Saturday.
Presented by dastango Himanshu Bajpai and Pragya Sharma, it highlighted how Guru Sahib believed in humanity and fought against religious intolerance.
Bajpai and Sharma narrated several anecdotes from the life of Guru Sahib to show how he had a firm belief in humanity and never discriminated against anyone based on the religion. Spellbound by the performance, the audience chanted “Wahe Guruji Ka Khalsa Wahe Guruji Ki Fateh” and “Jo Bole So Nihal Sat Sri Akal” after every anecdote.
It was followed by a symposium in which dignitaries spoke on the need for religious tolerance. The panel included Maulana Mohammad Mushtaq Nadwi, Rajesh Chandra, Reverend Dayasagar, CL Kuril and Head Granthi, Sadar gurudwara Gyani Harvinder Singh.
