FSL findings hint at single killer, no forced entry
Lucknow: Preliminary findings from forensic analysis and crime scene reconstruction have indicated the involvement of a single accused in the murder of 49-year-old pathology operator and liquor businessman, Manvendra Singh, in Aashiana on Feb 20. According to investigators, teams from the forensic science laboratory (FSL) examined the scene and reconstructed the sequence of events.Early forensic inputs, including injury patterns, blood spatter analysis, and movement indicators at the spot, suggest the murder was likely carried out by his son, Akshat, 19, rather than multiple assailants, as initially suspected.
Police officials said the reconstruction exercise helped establish a clearer timeline and ruled out the possibility of forced entry or the involvement of multiple attackers. Technical evidence and circumstantial clues are being further analysed to identify and trace the suspect.Officials added that further confirmation would depend on detailed forensic reports.Police claimed that Akshat bought a blue plastic drum large enough to fit inside his car. He also purchased thick polythene sheets and 20 litres of kerosene, possibly to mask odour and aid disposal.Police are now collecting CCTV footage and billing records from local markets to corroborate the purchases linked to the murder."His phone call detail records (CDR) are being analysed to identify whether he sought assistance from anyone," a police officer said.Police sources claimed that after the murder, Akshat attempted to contact a family lawyer, insisting on a private meeting, claiming it to be urgent. However, the lawyer was unavailable due to court commitments. During this period, he is also believed to have confessed to his crime to a few acquaintances.
