Lucknow: On the completion of 175 years of establishment of IIT
Roorkee
University, governor, UP, Anandiben Patel duly inaugurated an year-long celebration at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan on Saturday.
The chain of events began with the inauguration of a two-day global meet programme 'Ullas Global Tomaso 175' organized by IIT-Roorkee Alumni Association, Lucknow chapter.
Addressing the inaugural session, the governor said that students of Roorkee university are outshining the name of the country on the world stage today. This institute is one of the best engineering institutes in the country and has played an important role in building the future of the country.
Earlier, Anuj Varshney, president, IIT Roorkee Alumni Association, Lucknow chapter, said that today “if our institute is discussed among the best engineering institutes of the world, it is because we get the best teachers in our institute.”
