NEW DELHI: The counting is done for the Jaunpur Lok Sabha election 2024. SP's Babu Singh Kushwaha won against BJP's Kripashankar Singh with a vote margin of 99,335 votes.
Five segments comprise its assembly constituency. The Jaunpur districts are home to these assemblies. Five legislative assembly constituencies (Badlapur, Shahganj, Jaunpur, Malhani, and Mungra Badshahpur) make up the Jaunpur parliamentary seat. According to the 2011 census, Jaunpur has a population of around 44 lakh people.

2019 Lok Sabha elections: There was intense competition in Jaunpur during the 2019 General Assembly Elections. In 2019, there was a 55.64 per cent voter turnout in this constituency. With 5,21,128 votes, BSP candidate Shyam Singh Yadav won the 2019 General Election by an 80,936-vote margin. With 4,40,192 votes, Krishna Pratap Singh KP of the BJP was beaten by Shyam Singh Yadav.
