Lucknow: Probe into the sensational heist in

Indiranagar

on Sunday noon led sleuths to Shaheed Path, the 22.63km four-lane carriageway that connects locations in trans-Gomti directly with three national highways.

In the absence of any concrete leads, the police teams working on the case got the first breakthrough with the help of electronic surveillance. A mobile phone the outlaws had robbed remained active for a while and gave directions to police probes.

Around 12.05pm, four masked men barged into a jewellery store located in

Mulayamnagar

locality. The men pointed pistols and guns at shop owner

Rajesh Rastogi

and his employee and robbed some items. The outlaws took away Rajesh's mobile phone with them. Three other persons who stood guard outside the shop meanwhile threatened other shopkeepers on the stretch and brandished firearms openly. The group of seven escaped on three motorcycles.

Rajesh's phone remained active till 1pm. Probes showed outlaws crossed

Faizabad

road, reached

Matiyari

crossing before escaping via Shaheed Path.

Additional superintendent of trans-Gomti Jay Prakash said it is being checked if the notorious gang of criminals from neighbouring districts visited Lucknow on Sunday. "We are taking help of informers and getting the footage enhanced," said Jay Prakash. A case under dacoity charges was registered at

Ghazipur

police station.
