Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Netas Take Poll Position At Booths
Defence minister and Lucknow MP, Rajnath Singh, arrived with his family to cast his vote at Scholar Home School polling station in Vipul Khand, Gomtinagar on Monday.
Accompanied by his wife, Savitri Singh, son Neeraj Singh and daughter-in-law Neelam Singh, Rajnath appealed to all voters in Lucknow and across the country to ensure that every family member participates in voting.
Refraining from making seat predictions, he reiterated the BJP's resolve of securing 400-plus seats but emphasized that the decision lies with the public.
Neeraj also addressed the media after casting his vote, noting the enthusiasm among the people, with long queues seen at every polling booth.
His elder son and Noida MLA, Pankaj Singh, urged voters to set a record turnout, stating that higher voter turnout strengthens democracy. He encouraged youth and women to actively participate in the voting process for a self-reliant and developed India.
BSP chief Mayawati arrived at sharp 7am to vote at Children Palace School near Mall Avenue flyover. "I hope for a change in power this time. That the public is silent but watching everything closely, is an indication to this effect, she said. Asked about her nephew Akash Anand's removal from the party and the opposition creating a hue and cry on him, Mayawati said she doesn't want to comment on what the opposition thinks.
Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak cast his vote at Lucknow Montessori School (LMS) with wife Namrata Pathak and daughter.
BSP leader Satish Chandra Mishra, BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi, Rajya Sabha MPs Dinesh Sharma, Sanjay Seth, BJP Lucknow East candidate OP Srivastava, among others, cast their votes at various polling stations across the city.
