Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Voters sip lassi in AC polling booths
Polling day was a delight for residents of high-rise housing societies as they voted for the first time on campus. The AC booths also offered them free curd, lassi and other refreshments.
Rajeev Saxena, who voted along with his wife Chayya and son Archit, at the polling booth in Saryu apartments in Gomtinagar Extension said, "We are happy with the administration's decision of setting up a polling booth in the complex itself. As a result, not a single family from our flat has missed out on voting."
Similar were the happy voting scenes at Omaxe Heights in Vibhuti Khand. A resident, Deepak Kumar, said, "Just look at our polling booth. It's so well equipped with all facilities, be it coolers, drinking water and refreshments, which are a necessity in such scorching heat."
Residents of Parijat Apartments in Vikrant Khand, Smriti apartments on Kursi Road, Akash Enclave in Vrindavan Yojana, Eldeco Elegance in Vibhuti Khand also got group photos with neighbours holding placards saying, 'We are a proud voter'.
"Beautiful decorations at polling booths with balloons keep children busy, while good seating facilities like sofas and chairs, besides water coolers encourage women and the elderly to come out and vote. All these are there in our apartment, hence 100% voting has been registered here," said AK Gupta, a resident of Smriti apartments.
