LUCKNOW: Pregnant women coming to LokBandhu hospital will now get consultation and treatment at a separate Out Patient Department (OPD) and there will be no need for them to line up with other patients at the main OPD.

A newly constructed 'Gyani' OPD and laundry was inaugurated by deputy chief minister and health minister Brajesh Pathak on Tuesday. The Deputy CM also launched a hospital website to enhance the online process in a more systematic manner to simplify OPD registration.

He also instructed the hospital to pay special attention to cleanliness in order to protect the patients from infection. Dr Ajay Shankar Tripathi, medical superintendent of the hospital, said, "We are continuously making an effort to provide better treatment to patients and at present more than 300 beds have been arranged for patients. We will soon open a blood bank for them."

Deputy CM also congratulated the director of the hospital Dr Deepa Tyagi, CMS Dr SK Saxena and medical superintendent Dr Ajay Shankar Tripathi on receiving the NABS certificate for their hospital.
